Stockpile your packs with flashlights and bear spray to keep in the camping tents at night. Flashlights can always serve in order to help find things and point you in the correct path when roaming during the night. The bear spray, on the other hand, is a buy that you most likely and hopefully will never use but is something definitely worth having for that extra piece of mind when you hear rustling in the woods.
It may seem to be unusual, but being noisy will keep much of the furry creatures unseen. That being said, if you have close-by neighbors, don't cause a full out commotion. The sounds of the campfire crackling, voices, and other man-made sounds like auto engines usually work in frightening wildlife.
As much as you may love and trust your pet dogs to stay nearby, it's not worth the risk of allowing them to stray off alone. An option to constantly holding the other end of the leash is purchasing a spin stake to place in the ground to keep the pup nearby while granting her or him a little flexibility to roam.
When it concerns snakes, be particularly cautious if you move logs or brush as almost all snakes get to moving when their surrounding is changed. If serpents are a high worry of yours in a specific area, consider wearing heavy-duty footwear and gloves when moving such things.
